What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a manual therapy that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Osteopaths aim to relieve pain and improve the function of the body to enable you to get back to your daily activities and sports. They may also provide advice general health advice such as posture, nutrition and sleep to help promote optimal health.

What to Expect

The initial consultation will last up to 1 hour. The osteopath will take a detailed medical history and examine the problem area. The findings, diagnosis and suitable treatment will be discussed with you followed by treatment if appropriate. If you require further investigation then the osteopath will refer you to your local GP or other health professional.

For the examination it is likely the area will need to be exposed, you may be asked to undress to your underwear, if you wish to bring a pair of shorts and a vest top for your comfort then please feel free to do so.
